Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is a American chef television personality and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network. Her signature spiky blonde hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides simple, easy-to-learn techniques to cook at home on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell was employed in New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary traditions and environment. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. As a youngster, living in the New York's Upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step following her graduation with an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The student says "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of American student. I was awed by every moment." I just couldn't get enough out of the experience. Following graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one time in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin-starred restaurant in Tuscany. The chef gained an understanding of Italian culture and cuisine during her stay in Italy that has informed her cooking style. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens children living with challenges. She is also an Juvenile diabetes research foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she advocates for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. Burrell is often a guest speaker at conferences and travels across the nation to mentor others in her task. Anne was always grateful that she had the opportunity to share her love that she had for sharing her cooking skills with other people.
